Cheryl Cole and JLS were the big winners at last night's BT Digital Music Awards - scooping 2 gongs each.

The X Factor judge, 27, was named Best Female and her track Fight For This Love was Best Song.

JLS were Best Group and took home the Best Video prize for Everybody In Love.

Lady Gaga, 24, was Best International Artist while Robbie Williams, 35, was Best Male.

Other winners were Tinie Tempah for Best Newcomer, Professor Green was Breakthrough Artist Of The Year, Dizzee Rascal was Best Independent Artist and Muse scooped Best Website.

Stars at the event at Camden's Roundhouse included McFly, Ne-Yo, Nikki Grahame and Scouting For Girls.

British Fashion Awards

LAST night proved to be the icing on the cake for Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey; following a triumphant return to London Fashion Week as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, the designer - who also received his MBE from the Queen last week - walked away with the highly prestigious Designer of the Year accolade at the British Fashion Awards.

Am I supposed to announce the winner of this thing now?Hosted by Lauren Laverne and held at the ornate surrounds of London's Royal Courts of Justice, the great and the good of the fashion world - Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Victoria Beckham, Jerry Hall, Stephen Jones and Erin O'Connor among them - turned out to fete this year's awards, a culmination of London Fashion Week's 25th anniversary celebrations.

And it turned out to be quite the night for Mr Bailey and his Burberry achievements. The luxury fashion label went on to win Designer Brand of the Year - beating off competition from Mulberry and Pringle of Scotland - and announced that its Burberry Prorsum line will, as we very much hoped it would, be back on the London Fashion Week calendar again in February.

Kerry Katona to launch Liverpool Fashion Week

Kerry Katona is returning home to the north in order to open the Liverpool Fashion Week on Tuesday 19 October. Also performing will be Liverpool girl band, Estralla, who are currently storming through boot camp in this year’s X Factor and BGT finalists, Nemesis who will perform their debut single during the week long fashion festival.

This is Liverpool’s biggest ever Fashion Week with high street brands such as John Lewis, Next, Matalan, New Look, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Evans showcasing their A/W 10/11 collections alongside independent design boutiques and online stores. We have catwalk shows using models size 6 to 16 ensuring that all women’s shapes are celebrated on the runway.

Liverpool Fashion Week is sponsored by Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa who will be offering spa treatments during the week, alongside the Moroccan themed boutique fair. Other sponsors include The Lip Doctor, Southport New Pleasureland and Hed Kandi who ar providing an after show party on the Friday night. This is where guests can shop ‘till they drop at a selection of stalls including jewellery, hair accessories, hair extensions, cup cakes, designer sunglasses and vintage couture.

Fashion Week in Liverpool is organised by Lifestyle Monthly magazine, the region’s longest running free glossy magazine, and is media partners with Radio City 96.7FM. Hair is being styled by Avant Garde, the region’s premier hair salon.

London Fashion Week is always entertaining and often dazzling, and the latest production also proved to be a lot of fun. This week’s 2011 spring/summer showing featured some of the most outrageously appealing designs ever, with Giles Deacon’s pink prom dresses and plus-size models in the forefront.

Giles is the name of the line, and the man’s lack of pretension and flair for ingenuity turned the catwalk into a delightful parade of designer cartoons. His models looked healthy and happy as they strutted around in floral prints, pink crystal fringe and feather hats.

London Fashion Week is always entertaining and often dazzling, and the latest production also proved to be a lot of fun. He also incorporated googly-eyed animals and sticking plaster prints, corset-top evening gowns and pompoms. There seems to be no place Giles Deacon won’t go, and he can take you right along with him. His finale was a long elaborate gown worn by the 71-year-old ‘60’s supermodel “Veruschka”, and she looked just fabulous.

A bit more demure and equally appealing was the new line from Erdem Moralioglu,

who has developed his signature designs along the lines of high-collar shirts, flowing skirts and lace-from-leather patterns, amongst other innovations. Lace was featured a lot in romantic white dresses as well as brilliant colours and patterns in long dresses and shifts. The combinations of patchwork, prints, lace and appliqué were inevitably eye-catching.

Christopher Kane gave another outstanding performance with his traditional and rather sporty (v-necks and pleated skirts) base, highlighted to the max with colours and textures that re-invent the whole era. The collection had the look of ‘40’s and 50’s styles updated to ultra-modern and very bold, designed so that the clash is resounding and irresistible.

Paris Fashion Week

Balmain added a little Americana to spring/summer 2011, taking its signature rocker chic aesthetic and fusing it with love-worn stars and stripes, as modelled by Vogue cover girl Freja Beha Erichsen. Balenciaga's star model contingent, which included Stella Tennant and Gisele, walked in a show that was all about futurism, while Zac Posen made his Paris debut, his statement-making collection proving himself as an ample Parisian player.

Last night also saw French Vogue host a masked ball to celebrate its 90th anniversary, with star-studded guests including Natalia Vodinova, Kate Moss and her boyfriend Jamie Hince.
