Alexander McQueen’s death came days before London Fashion Week, although McQueen was not scheduled to show.
British tabloid The Sun reported that McQueen was found hanged.
Police have stated that the death was not suspicious, but have not confirmed that the death was a suicide.
Alexander McQueen’s death was announced on 11 February 2010, shortly after he was found dead at his home on Green Street, London W1, where paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
On 3 February 2010, Alexander McQueen wrote on Alexander McQueen’s Twitter page that Alexander McQueen’s mother had died the day before, adding: “RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.”
Four days later he wrote that he had had an “awful week” but said “friends have been great”, adding: “now i have to some how pull myself together”.
His mother’s funeral is due to take place on 12 February 2010.

Lee Alexander McQueen, CBE (16 March 1969 – 11 February 2010) was an English fashion designer known for his unconventional designs and shock tactics.

McQueen was gay, and claimed he had realised his sexual orientation when he was six.

London Fashion Week is always entertaining and often dazzling, and the latest production also proved to be a lot of fun. This week’s 2011 spring/summer showing featured some of the most outrageously appealing designs ever, with Giles Deacon’s pink prom dresses and plus-size models in the forefront.

Giles is the name of the line, and the man’s lack of pretension and flair for ingenuity turned the catwalk into a delightful parade of designer cartoons. His models looked healthy and happy as they strutted around in floral prints, pink crystal fringe and feather hats.

London Fashion Week is always entertaining and often dazzling, and the latest production also proved to be a lot of fun. This week’s 2011 spring/summer showing featured some of the most outrageously appealing designs ever, with Giles Deacon’s pink prom dresses and plus-size models in the forefront.

Giles is the name of the line, and the man’s lack of pretension and flair for ingenuity turned the catwalk into a delightful parade of designer cartoons. His models looked healthy and happy as they strutted around in floral prints, pink crystal fringe and feather hats.

He also incorporated googly-eyed animals and sticking plaster prints, corset-top evening gowns and pompoms. There seems to be no place Giles Deacon won’t go, and he can take you right along with him. His finale was a long elaborate gown worn by the 71-year-old ‘60’s supermodel “Veruschka”, and she looked just fabulous.

A bit more demure and equally appealing was the new line from Erdem Moralioglu,

who has developed his signature designs along the lines of high-collar shirts, flowing skirts and lace-from-leather patterns, amongst other innovations. Lace was featured a lot in romantic white dresses as well as brilliant colours and patterns in long dresses and shifts. The combinations of patchwork, prints, lace and appliqué were inevitably eye-catching.

Christopher Kane gave another outstanding performance with his traditional and rather sporty (v-necks and pleated skirts) base, highlighted to the max with colours and textures that re-invent the whole era. The collection had the look of ‘40’s and 50’s styles updated to ultra-modern and very bold, designed so that the clash is resounding and irresistible.
